My Yoga Journey
I am overjoyed for the opportunity to share my knowledge and passion for yoga with the students at Inspiring Actions. I am a certified yoga instructor through YogaFit. I also have a bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Performance. My passion for fitness includes personal training and nutritional counseling. My yoga journey started while I would relax before and after running marathons. As I decreased my running and increased my yoga practice, something unexpected happened; I became stronger and faster. In the past, I believed in the, “no-pain, no-gain” philosophy. Wow, was I proved wrong when I found yoga. It took me a few classes to understand the beauty of the breathing and methodical movements. Instead of crunching in a 2 hour run, I enjoy working on my yoga practice. Making my body, mind and spirit stronger is no longer a painful experience, but a beautiful one.

Yoga has helped me physically, mentally, and spiritually. I have gained flexibility that has helped me in ways I never thought possible. When life would change directions unexpectedly, yoga has given me the mental strength to get through the troubles I saw ahead. My spiritual relationship with the Creator has also grown, as I find myself at peace with the journeys he has given me; the difficult ones and all.

We need to thank our bodies daily for giving us the strength to practice yoga. It truly is a gift. Instead of being critical of our bodies, I want my students to be proud and embrace their inner spirit.
